“Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.” Isaiah 56:11 KJV
There was once a farmer who grew carrots. It all caught the notice of a little rabbit who happened to hop to the forest’s edge. Nabal has so many sheep. Our horseman loved a good cigar.
“But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.” Genesis 8:9 KJV
A father stood looking out the window. His reflection exposed the loss he was feeling. He is perhaps the most famous actor in all history. God knows us so much better than we sometimes know ourselves.
“For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.” Jeremiah 31:25 KJV
He held the hand of his older brother and younger sister. What would happen them? He no longer had his family. He was headed into the land of the great and scary unknown. That more than likely translates into a better life for one’s self.
“Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.” Matthew 25:27 KJV
As quickly as the stranger entered the small town, he left. It is up to us to decide how we will invest what He has given us.
“Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; yet every one of them doth curse me.”” Jeremiah 15:10 KJV
Depression brings thoughts like that. You don’t get real excited about anything. The angel stood there a minute as though he was giving Bo a few moments to think about what he just asked. The President, who thought love had left him forever, was now dancing around like a teenage boy.
“But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the Lord’s flock is carried away captive..”” Jeremiah 13:17 KJV
His daughters would say it was the first time they saw their father cry. My greatest fear is that we are letting go of our grip.
What letter did most of the Presidents last names start with? See if you know your Presidential ABC’s.
“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” I Corinthians 15:55 KJV
On February 27, 1951, Minnesota became the thirty-sixth state to ratify the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution. We never know when that dark stranger will be at the door.
It’s amazing, but some of the words of the Presidents do offer some wisdom. We will let some of the US Presidents share their wisdom through quotes.
“Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.” Job 34:2 KJV
Ask for anything you want and it will be given to you. Life is full of those times when we forget the wisdom that got us where we are.
