“It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” Psalm 118:8 KJV
Personally, for one of the few times in his life, I think this President lost his confidence in himself and what he was capable of doing. When you are talking to the Great Creator, it is often easy to forget He made everything, even confidence. Sometimes confidence gets broken because Faith and Trust forget about their older brother, Wisdom.
“Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.” Psalm 33:8 KJV
He found out he was President when she told him the President was dead. There are giants in them there hills. These five awesome things are sprinkled throughout my life.
“Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.” Psalm 51:8 KJV
Sensing the already nervous mood of the nation, the President didn’t want to startle the nation any more by telling it that their leader was ill. One by one, people passed by him. No one wanted to help. I just have a hard time, sometimes, arranging the “stick” on the correct side of the “o” to form one of those letters.
“For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.” Ecclesiastes 4:10 KJV
If someone would say this one word, “Boom!” Your attention would immediately turn in this President’s direction. Like the little boy who gives his lunch to Jesus, he is nameless. For our sake, let’s just call him Dakota. Wondering why he was standing there, looking so lonely, I asked him why he was just standing there.

President Hiram Johnson? He got in a hurry to be President and he missed his chance. Our Bible character also predetermined what was the proper path for him to be on to be successful. How good are we at trying to listen to God’s instructions?

One of the hardest things about life is getting older. Through 5 Presidents I look for some advice on getting older. I also found an Old Testament prophet to help me out, too.
“Therefore I hated life; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me: for all is vanity and vexation of spirit.” Ecclesiastes 2:17 KJV
According to Healthline, 16.2 million, or roughly 6.7% of American Adults suffer some sort of depression at least once in their lifetime. We will visit 3 Presidents and 3 Bible characters who may be depression candidates.
“Judah and Israel were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking, and making merry.” I Kings 4:20 KJV
We see our limits and we forget about the invalid mother, who died really young, who still produced a young child who carried her in his heart through the Presidency and even to his death. We forget that our Savior came from a very tainted family tree. The most amazing part about times like these is the people who God places in your path to help you through them. Usually they are people you would have probably just walked right by if you were on the straight path.
“I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.” Psalm 37:25 KJV
It is the tale of three sons. Two are the sons of men who sold bread for a living. The other was the son of a peanut farmer.
“When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!” John 19:26 KJV
This Presidential daughter stated: “My first mistake was thinking I could handle it.” This seems to be how this Biblical parent-child cycle closes. You almost believe it is your parent’s duty to get you to a happy adulthood.
