“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:21 KJV
This future President believed an Indian attack was imminent. Usually the smoothed paved parts were once just gravel paths. The rest of the trip was uneventful, at least from what I remember of it.
“I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.” Psalms 45:17 KJV
Here is my tribute to President George Hebert Walker Bush.
“And it shall turn to you for a testimony.” Luke 21:13 KJV
This President understood that the “whys” would find answers only by actions. I’m sure there were many times this Bible character must have asked God, “Why me? I wasn’t real sure what that was, but my wife knew, because she had to go through it, too.
“And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” Luke 17:13 KJV
This future President was tempted to just leave his father there in the snow. The Bible makes sure that we know that the person who came back was one of those “evil” Samaritans. My wife’s first reaction to my bug is not one of pity for my condition.
“Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.” Isaiah 56:5 KJV
The memories of this President were tarnished by the return he never made. God’s gift to Hannah became Hannah’s gift to the world. Even though I have gotten older, and my memory has faded a little, I will never forget the day I was in the delivery room and I witnessed my little boy being born.
“Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?” I Kings 4:9 KJV
He would spend the rest of his life trying to convince the world that he really did care. His request is actually a very smart request. That I wasn’t more aware of my surroundings has haunted me every day since.
“For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.” Psalm 31:3 KJV
I’m not exactly sure how our country has gotten into the shape it has gotten in. He knows his turn is coming to be a church leader. That’s why God made grandkids.
“Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.” I Corinthians 9: 24 KJV
The future President told him he really appreciated his competitiveness, but maybe when they played a team of locals, they could dial it back a little bit. He knew it was just a matter of time before his enemies would be taunting him because of his defeat and then he would have his life taken from him by them. Who can’t think of the word horse without thinking of basketball?
A story based on one of the Presidents who strongly guarded his reputation. He is one of the most popular Presidents, even today. His is a story of leadership, self-sacrifice, and never giving up.
