Too often we find fault in those around. It’s like we want them to motivate us in the manner we want to be motivated. Maybe we should be like this President, and this Bible character, and be the inspiration others needs. We might be surprised by the results.

The senator was completely puzzled by his words and he asked him to explain. I guess it was his way of saying, “Hey guys, I get it. I know where this faith has come from. I know the meaning of our religion.” To me, it is more the way he lives and the insight into things that inspires me.

Many years later, Friedrich’s grandson would build a seventy-two story tower real close to his grandfather’s old barber shop. I believe his name might be used more than anyone else in the Bible. One of the tools I use during those times is reflection. Sometimes it makes me feel better and other times it actually makes me feel worse.

There is just something really special when you finally get to meet someone you look up to. Many times in our history we have had the battle of the haves and the have nots. He was a common man if there ever was one. Every common man who ever associated with him loved him for that, too.
