US President Quotes – US President Quotes about Children

George Washington has been called the Father of our Country, but US Presidential quotes on children are very hard to find. Maybe this is because, up until the very recent Presidents, most of the responsibility of child raising fell on the mother. But here we go, here are some of the US President quotes on children I could find:

[blockquote cite=”Herbert Hoover”]Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future. [/blockquote]
[blockquote cite=”John F. Kennedy”]For in the final analysis, our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children’s futures. And we are all mortal. [/blockquote]
[blockquote cite=”Bill Clinton”]We must teach our children to resolve their conflicts with words, not weapons. [/blockquote]
[blockquote cite=”Ronald Reagan”]We have three cats. It’s like having children, but there is no tuition involved. [/blockquote]
[blockquote cite=”Harry Truman”]I have found the best way to give advice to your children is to find out what they want and then advise them to do it. [/blockquote]
[blockquote cite=”Teddy Roosevelt”]The one thing I want to leave my children is an honorable name. [/blockquote]
[blockquote cite=”George H.W. Bush”]I do not like broccoli. And I haven’t liked it since I was a kid and my mother made me eat it. And I’m President of the United States and I’m not going to eat any more broccoli. [/blockquote]
[blockquote cite=”Jimmy Carter”]It is good to realize that if love and peace can prevail on earth, and if we can teach our children to honor natures gifts, the joys and beauties of the outdoors will be here forever. [/blockquote]
[blockquote cite=”John Adams”]As much as I converse with sages and heroes, they have very little of my love and admiration. I long for rural and domestic scene, for the warbling of birds and the prattling of my children. [/blockquote]
[blockquote cite=”Barack Obama”]This is the moment when we must come together to save the planet. Let us resolve that we will not leave our children a world where the oceans rise and famine spreads and terrible storms devastate our lands. [/blockquote]

From the SAY WHAT file

[blockquote cite=”Thomas Jefferson”]The whole commerce between master and slave is a perpetual exercise of the most boisterous passions, the most unremitting despotism on the one part, and degrading submissions on the other. Our children see this and learn to imitate it. [/blockquote]

Giving the relatives a chance to speak

[blockquote cite=”Rose Kennedy (John F. Kennedy’s Mom)”]It’s wrong for parents to bury their children. It should be the other way around. [/blockquote]
[blockquote cite=”Barbara Bush (George HW Bush’s wife and George W. Bush’s Mom)”]I married the first man I ever kissed. When I tell this to my children, they just about throw up. [/blockquote]
